It is important for law enforcement, schools, and parents to be "on the same page" about essential safety skills.

If they are all addressing the issues in the same way, the effectiveness is greatly increased.

One area where this is particularly true is the concept of "stranger danger".   That concept does NOT work!!!  More than 85% of children are victimized by someone they KNOW!  Teaching them only to be wary of strangers puts them in a very vulnerable position of trusting someone they really should not trust.

Eliminate the use of the word "stranger".  Replace it with the  Check First concept!
